Disatvantages of e-papers

We’ve taken a look at the advantages of using e-papers in organizations; let’s now take a look the disadvantages of e-papers for organizations. Accordingly, compared with other low-power display technologies, e-papers have very low refresh rate. This simply means that the pages load slowly so it takes a few seconds for text and images to appear which might cause an obstacles for employees in organizations. Furthermore, some people complain about the color display in e-paper, it’s been only in black and white except for a few recent companies have shown e-papers that diplay colors, but it failed in fullfilling clearness. Therefore, the color display is another disadvantage that e-paper technology has to overcome.

Advantages of E-papers.

There are several advantages for organizations to use e-papers.
As mentioned previously it is less expensive and is less time consuming than the use of ordinary papers. Other advantages would include:

1- Since e-paper is a thin light weighted technology that can be carried around it is very convenient to use.
2- e-papers can hold images and texts indefinitely while allowing them to be modified later. This will help companies a great deal when storing information.

E-paper replacing regular papers

E-paper is a very cost effective method to replace regular paper, this obviously saves money as E-paper could be reused infinitely. Therefore, instead of having each employee print 20 pages business report each morning, the manager could simply upload the document to his/ her employees’ e-papers, which will save both time and money comparing to the use of regular paper. Also, e-paper is more environmentally friendly because it doesn’t require huge amounts of trees to be cut down for its production like regular papers do.

E-paper

Nowadays, new technologies are emerging and the use for these technologies is becoming a necessity in our lives. One of these new technologies is E-paper. Electronic-paper, also know as e-paper, is a handy display that is similar to papers, however, unlike papers it can be electronically written on constantly for hundreds and thousands of times, by using an electronic ink enabling it be updated. The most widely known and used form of e-paper is E-Ink. In the 1970's the first e-paper was introduced by Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, it was called Gyricon. A Gyricon consists of sheets, these sheets are thin layers of see-through plastic. Whitin these sheets there are millions of bichromal balls.
